About Women in Emergency Services

Women in Emergency Services (WiES) is a membership organization dedicated to advancing the role of women across all levels of the EMS industry. From field providers to executives in the boardroom, we provide a dynamic platform for members to flourish and realize their full potential.

WiES' Leadership is committed to building a community where women can connect with peers, access valuable resources, and grow professionally — all within an environment that champions their success and influence in the EMS industry.

Mission & Vision

Women in Emergency Services supports and advances women's careers in the emergency medical services industry, from field providers to national leadership, through empowerment, networking, mentorship, and education. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where our members can gain skills, share knowledge, and access opportunities that propel their careers forward.

Working together, WiES members are bringing the industry to a new level of excellence by supporting and promoting the contributions of women as an essential component to the future of emergency medical services. Our mission extends to advocating for equitable workplaces, influencing industry standards, and ensuring that women's voices are heard and respected across all levels.

We are looking to establish a dynamic and supportive network that not only celebrates the achievements of women in EMS, but also inspires and mentors the next generation of female professionals. By doing so, we hope to transform the landscape of the industry, making it more diverse, innovative, and successful.

Pillars

WiES believes through the four pillars below, we will be able to influence and impact the lives of thousands of women working in the emergency medical services industry.

  1. Empowerment: We celebrate women in emergency medical services and create an inclusive environment for women to be their true selves. Women will grow their personal and professional networks through self-empowerment and mutual support.
  2. Networking: By providing unique opportunities for women to connect and learn from others, they will be able to create strong and supportive networks amongst peers to gain knowledge and advance their careers.
  3. Mentorship: Women will develop relationships to mentor and empower women in the emergency medical services industry. Women will feel confident to advocate for themselves and achieve excellence in their careers.
  4. Education: Create high-quality learning opportunities for women to build successful careers in the evolving emergency medical services industry. These educational opportunities will focus on professional development, self-advocacy, and technical expertise.

These pillars all support workforce development including the improvement of awareness of opportunities in the industry and retaining women in the industry.
